FAQ

Port Boat House provides all new boating customers with a full two-day training and orientation package. Day one is spent reviewing all boat systems and day two encompasses hands on boat operations with a delivery captain. Port Boat House provides continuing after sales support for your boating needs.

Boat and engine maintenance are scheduled in your owner’s manual and for the most part is determined by hours of use. For most boaters an annual service of the boat mechanical systems will be all that is necessary. Boats kept moored in a marina will require hull bottoms be clear of marine growth and sacrificial anodes maintained to protect underwater systems. In addition, winter months will require systems be protected from the freezing.

There are different regulations in different regions of the country that you need to make yourself aware of. In British Columbia you may legally tow a boat trailer combination with a GVW of up to 4,600kg with a basic class 5 licence. If your boat / trailer package exceeds 4,600kg you will need to obtain a Heavy Trailer Endorsement on your licence. This will involve knowledge test and a road test.

Port Boat House offers boat launch and hauling, short and long-term storage, fueling, detailing and other services as requested. Many customers leave their boats with us permanently and we will make ready for their scheduled trips. We can arrange customer pick ups and boats can be launched on the west or east side of the Island.
